The fake buttons are the whole problem

File hosts routinely surround the real download with several fake "Download Now" buttons designed to look identical to the genuine one. The real download almost always sits behind a countdown timer, and it is worth being patient rather than clicking the first big colorful button that appears. Pop-ups claiming you need extra software or an update are scams, full stop; they are trying to get unwanted programs or malware onto your machine, not helping you finish the download.
